SIP Calculator
Estimate what a monthly mutual fund SIP, a one-time lumpsum, or the two together could grow to at the return you expect.

How SIP returns are calculated
A SIP is a series of investments, so each installment compounds for a different length of time. This calculator models that month by month rather than applying one growth factor to the total you invested.
- 1. Monthly compounding. The expected annual return is divided by twelve and applied to the running balance each month.
- 2. Installment timing. Each monthly amount is added at the start of its month, so the first installment compounds for the whole period and the last one for a single month.
- 3. Lumpsum comparison. A one-time investment is compounded over the full period, which is why per rupee it finishes ahead of a SIP at the same rate.
- 4. Estimates only. A constant return is a modelling convenience — real returns are uneven and can be negative in any year.
If you plan to raise your installment as your income grows, the step up SIP calculator models an annual increase instead of a flat amount.
